WT Woodson Goes Gold for Pediatric Brain Cancer
WT Woodson High School went GOLD to raise awareness and funds for pediatric brain cancer, inspired by the story and legacy of Max Pound. Students, families, and the broader school community united in support of children battling brain cancer, demonstrating the power of youth-led advocacy and community-driven impact.
The Gold Out event served as both a visible show of solidarity and a meaningful fundraiser, with all proceeds supporting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF)—a leading nonprofit dedicated to advancing research, family support, and cures for pediatric brain tumors.
Why Gold Matters
Gold is the internationally recognized color for childhood cancer awareness, and wearing gold honors the strength, resilience, and courage of children fighting pediatric brain cancer. By going gold, the WT Woodson community helped amplify awareness of a disease that remains the leading cause of cancer-related death among children.
Inspired by Max Pound
Max Pound’s story continues to inspire schools, teams, and communities to take action. The WT Woodson Gold Out reflects the same determination, compassion, and leadership that defined Max—transforming awareness into tangible support for children and families affected by pediatric brain cancer.
